Front-line charity switches to G-LED™ lighting

Charity Organisation, The Rock Foundation reduces kWh by 69%

Rock Foundation is a front-line charitable organisation that creates new and unique provisions for young people and adults with learning disabilities and those who are disadvantaged. Through a wide variety of practical workshops and supported work placements, The Rock Foundation aims to help service users develop life and employment skills, to increase their self-esteem and independence, and ultimately improve their quality of life.

The Foundation was undergoing a refit of their main site in Grimsby and as such wanted to renovate the existing lighting infrastructure with high-quality energy-efficient lighting. The site comprises Day services for adults with disabilities, a charity shop, Tea rooms and meeting rooms.

GET Solutions provided a funded package which took advantage of the Green Business Fund and reduced the cost of the equipment by over £3,000. This in turn with over 29,000 kWh’s of electricity saved per year and a substantial reduction in maintenance costs will provide the Foundation with a total saving of over £100,000 over the lifetime of the lighting equipment. In addition to the financial benefits, the Foundation also improved its carbon footprint with approximately 22 tonnes of carbon savings per year.
