Award Winning Holiday Park joins The Energy Revolution™

Ullswater Heights, a luxury holiday park with stunning views of Blencartha and the stunning North Lakes has joined The Energy Revolution and will soon embark on its mission to become net-zero.

The popular resort won the much-coveted Hoseasons ‘Best in Britain’ award and aims to be a park of the future, not only by creating truly unique, effortless experiences and providing the very best in luxury facilities but doing so in the greenest and most sustainable way.

The sites owners Leisure Resorts, partnered with Carter Jonas, a multi-disciplinary property consultancy to analyse the parks utility profiles and help future proof their energy infrastructure and resilience. Local grid restrictions and planning constraints had to be overcome to accommodate the sites plans to add a further 73 hand-picked lodges with renewable air-source heating to their existing portfolio of 160 owner occupied and rental lodges, Safari Glamping Tents and innovative Pods.

To achieve net-zero, the site will revolutionise its existing energy infrastructure with the addition of an on-site energy centre consisting of an array of solar PV panels, wind turbines and a battery energy storage system. The energy centre will capture renewable non-grid energy and deliver power to all lodges and Jacuzzi® hot tubs across the site in addition to the Lakehouse bar & restaurant, electric vehicle chargers along with a planned Spa facility, which will add to the park’s popularity.

By generating their own energy on site from renewable sources and generating heat from air-source heat pumps, Ullswater Heights will be among the first in the UK to achieve independence from the grid and reduce their carbon footprint to net zero.
