If you purchased CHP plant outright, it is likely you were responsible for the design, specification & efficiency of the CHP.
Older CHPs were often sized electrically, which means they are sized according to the electricity profile of the facility. If a CHPs thermal mass is not used, the CHP will not operate.
Additionally, if existing HVAC systems are not fully synchronised with a CHP, then it will not operate effectively, and this will lead to both, a facilities boilers and CHP using more gas than needed, not good for your budget or the environment.
