Mechanical build nears completion at Eastleigh Holiday Inn
Following the successful assembly of two 50kW G-GEN™ combined heat and power engines at Holiday Inn Eastleigh, work has begun to upgrade the water quality to ensure both engines operate at full efficiency.
A specialist commercial sanitiser and cleaner has been used to rapidly lift and mobilise magnetic debris and other system contaminants and biofilms to be captured by the magnetic system filter.
The solution includes an inhibitor protection to passivate bare metal surfaces and prevent under-deposit corrosion. After being operated at temperature for a period of time, a balanced flush will be followed by the addition of a premium commercial corrosion protector which will prevent both system corrosion and limescale deposition.
This water treatment will help maintain the system efficiency and contribute to a longer system life, greater system efficiencies and lower CO2 emissions further.
The G-GEN™ CHP engines generate electricity which will replace the hotels’ baseload that would otherwise have come from the mains grid. Additionally, the heat produced by the CHP engine (a by-product of the generation process) will feed directly into the Hotel’s LTHW system.
